U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) reported that “U.S. forces carried out a maritime interdiction and right-of-visit boarding of the sanctions stateless vessel MT DAVINA located in the India Ocean… We will continue global maritime enforcement to disrupt illicit networks and interdict vessels providing material support to Iran, wherever they operate”. Iran’s army subsequently asserted that “after warning shots by the Qadir missile and the new Shahid Dana invading drones of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy”, two U.S. destroyers “left the Sea of Oman toward the Indian Ocean”. U.S. Central Command denied the claim, asserting that “Iranian forces did not attack or fire at U.S. Navy warships. Doing so would be a gross violation of the ceasefire”.
