Citing “very important sources on the other side”, President Trump remarked: “We have been told that the killing in Iran is stopping, it has stopped… and there’s no plan for executions”. Asked about the implications for U.S. strikes, Trump asserted: “We’re going to watch and see what the process is”. The same day, a joint statement by the G7 and EU High Representative warned that “the members of the G7 remain prepared to impose additional restrictive measures if Iran continues to crack down on protests and dissent in violation of international human rights obligations”.
