The spokesman for Iran’s military claimed that security forces had arrested some 2,000 people purportedly linked to a foreign espionage network prior and during the June 2025 war, asserting: “An extensive network of spies and agents of the enemy had been created with years of effort and immense amounts of dollars. Rebuilding such a network is no simple job and will require years of time and costs”.
