Following an Israeli attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field, Trump stated: “The U.S. knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of ​Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it”. He added that “no more attacks will be made by Israel” against South Pars “unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar – in which case the U.S., with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars gas field”. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said “our response to Israel’s attack on our infrastructure employed fraction of our power. The only reason for restraint was respect for requested de-escalation. [There will be] zero restraint if our infrastructures are struck again. Any end to this war must address damage to our civilian sites”.
