Israel’s defence minister indicated that “significant surprises are expected across all arenas that will escalate the war we are conducting against Iran and Hizbollah… The intensity of the strikes in Iran is increasing. The Iranian intelligence minister Khatib was also eliminated overnight”. Iran’s government confirmed Khatib’s death, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted: “Israel has no regard for the repercussions of the normalisation of its heinous methods of terror. But the international community should not disregard that recklessness… for every action there will inevitably and always be a reaction”.
