Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi alleged in a letter to the UN Secretary-General that current and former U.S. officials “directly incited violence and terrorist acts” amid protests in Iran, deeming  it “a flagrant violation of the principles of international law”. Relatedly, Iran’s defence minister claimed to have “precise intelligence” showing U.S and Israeli involvement in fomenting unrest.
