• The secretary general of Hizbollah claimed that Israel and the U.S. “want to disarm and cut off funds, prevent services, close schools and hospitals, obstruct reconstruction, prevent donations and demolish homes… We are prepared to sacrifice everything, to the maximum. We will not surrender, and our resolve will only grow stronger”. President Joseph Aoun, meanwhile, told a UN Security Council delegation that the Lebanese “do not want war [with Israel] again, the Lebanese people have suffered enough and there will be no going back”. He also stressed “the need to pressure the Israeli side to implement the ceasefire and withdraw”, and called on the international community to help the government’s effort to disarm all non-state groups.
