In a readout of a meeting between a senior U.S. diplomat and Iraq’s justice minister, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad said that the U.S. would “continue to speak clearly to the urgency in dismantling Iran-backed militias that undermine Iraq’s sovereignty, threaten Americans and Iraqis, and pilfer Iraqi resources”.
