President Trump warned that 7 April would be “power plant day, and bridge day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran” if the Strait of Hormuz was not opened. The following day, he asserted that “the entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night”, noting too that “they’re negotiating, we think in good faith… We have to have a deal that’s acceptable to me, and part of that deal is going to be we want free traffic of oil and everything else”.
