U.S. Central Command stated that “two days ago, the Iranian regime had eleven ships in the Gulf of Oman, today they have zero… Freedom of navigation has underpinned American and global economic prosperity for more than 80 years. U.S. forces will continue to defend it”. Meanwhile, an IRGC commander warned that “the strait [of Hormuz] is closed. If anyone tries to pass, the heroes of the Revolutionary Guards and the regular navy will set those ships ablaze”.
