For weeks, families of the disappeared walk side by side with volunteers, officials and counsellors, united in a search that is as physical as it is emotional. There are 133,000 people officially registered as disappeared in Mexico, most of whom went missing since the Mexican government launched a military strategy against drug trafficking organisations across the country. Although homicide rates have fallen, disappearances continue to increase.
