The IRGC that “the Strait of Hormuz is not reopenable as long as the excessive rhetoric and threats by U.S. officials and their interference in maritime movements in the region continues, and threats and interventions will make the situation more difficult and more complicated”. U.S. Central Command meanwhile underscored that “the immediate dangers posed to commercial vessels and their civilian crews are the IRGC’s verbal threats and attempted attacks”, while denying claims that a tanker had breached the U.S. naval blockade.
