Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the UN Secretary-General that “the situation in the Strait of Hormuz cannot be examined in isolation from the general regional circumstances… [which] stem from the war imposed [on Iran] by the U.S. and the Zionist regime [ie, Israel]”.  “Every country or international body concerned with peace and security must, in a responsible manner and without any compromise, condemn the crimes committed by these two regimes and call for an immediate halt to their military aggression against the Iranian nation”, he maintained. The following day, Iran’s speaker of parliament asserted: “The Strait of Hormuz situation won’t return to its pre-war status”.
