The IDF’s chief of staff indicated that “after the completing the stage of the surprise opening blow [against Iran], in which we created air superiority and suppressed the ballistic missile array, we are now moving to the next phase of the campaign, in which we will intensify the strike on the foundations of the regime and its military capabilities… We have additional surprising moves in our hands”. Relatedly, an Israeli military spokesperson asserted that Israeli strikes had “neutralised more than 60 per cent of [Iran’s] missile launchers… [and] neutralised 80 per cent of Iranian aerial defence systems”.
