Vice President JD Vance asserted that “the idea that we’re going to be in a Middle Eastern war for years with no end in sight – there is no chance that will happen… I think we all prefer the diplomatic option. But it really depends on what the Iranians do and what they say”. The following day Vance met with Oman’s foreign minister, who “shared detailed of the ongoing negotiation” between the U.S. and Iran and said he “look[ed] forward to further and decisive progress in the coming days”.
