U.S. and Iranian negotiators convened in Geneva, with Oman’s foreign minister initially reporting the exchange of “creative and positive ideas”, and later “significant progress in the negotiation”. He added that “discussions on a technical level will take place next week in Vienna”. Iran’s foreign minister said that “regarding some issues, there is now an understanding, and on others, it’s natural that we have differences. However, there was perhaps more seriousness on both sides than before, with the aim of reaching a negotiated solution”.
