President Pezeshkian stated that “Iran will not yield in the face of aggression, but we are continuing dialogue with all our strength with neighbouring countries in order to establish peace and tranquility in the region”. He also stressed that Tehran was “not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons… We have stated this repeatedly and are ready for any verification”. The same day, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, asserted that “no talks have been held on other matters” with the U.S. beyond the nuclear file, adding: “Raising additional demands would lead to the failure of the negotiations… If the negotiations proceed within a reasonable framework, there is a possibility of success”.
